SAUGAHATCHEE CHURCH
Know Jesus · Make Him Known
Verse of the Day
“This is the day that the LORD has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.”
Psalm 118:24 · BSB
You're welcome here, just as you are
A Spirit-filled family where all people can know Jesus, grow in Him, and go make Him known.
Everything we do flows from that mission. We're a Protestant, Pentecostal family in the Reeltown community that loves the Word, welcomes the Spirit, and believes God is still at work today.
We treasure the faith handed down to us, and we lean joyfully into what God is doing next — grounded in truth, never bound to the traditions of men. However you found us, you'll find a seat, a family, and a Savior who already knows your name.
Nervous about visiting? That's okay — a lot of people are. Whether it's your first time in a church in years or your first time ever, you don't need to dress up, know the songs, or have it all figured out. Just come as you are and sit with us. We'll be glad you did.
What to expect on Sunday
New to church or just new to us? Here's what a Sunday with our family looks like — no pressure, no dress code, no catch.
Come as you are
Jeans or your Sunday best — both fit right in. Arrive a few minutes early and someone will help you find your way.
Heartfelt worship
Expect music that's alive and genuine, room for the Spirit to move, and time to meet with God together.
The Word, made plain
Clear, honest Bible teaching you can carry into Monday — grounded in Scripture and lived out in real life.
Kids are loved here
Safe, fun, age-appropriate spaces where your children learn that Jesus loves them — while you worship at ease. A nursery is available.
We'd love to meet you
Here's everything you need for Sunday. Reach out ahead of time and we'll be watching for you.
Reach out — we'd love to hear from you
First time, a question, or planning a visit? Send us a note and we'll get right back to you.
Thanks — we got your note!
Someone from our church family will be in touch soon. We're so glad you reached out, and we look forward to meeting you.

Lee Kilpatrick
Hey there, and welcome. We're so glad you found us. Whether you've been walking with Jesus for years or you're just beginning to ask the big questions, there's a place for you here at Saugahatchee.
Our heart is simple: to know Jesus and to make Him known — in honest, everyday life. We're not about religion for its own sake; we're about real people meeting a real God and growing together as a family.
We'd love to meet you in person on a Sunday, hear your story, and walk with you however we can. And if you ever just need someone to pray with you, we're only a message away.
— Pastor Lee & Shannon Kilpatrick
One symbol, the whole story
Our logo isn't decoration — it's our calling in a single image: a flame rising from living water, with the cross at its heart.
Pentecostal Fire
The flame of the Holy Spirit, poured out at Pentecost and still falling fresh today.
Living Water
The same shape is a drop — baptism, cleansing, and the new life Jesus gives.
The Cross
Jesus at the very center of everything — the heart of our worship and our hope.
The Saugahatchee
The creek we're named for — hatchee means "flowing stream." Deep roots, living current.
First Things First
Most of us don’t drift toward God — we drift away from Him, one crowded week at a time. Over eight Sundays we’re walking through what Scripture says belongs first: His kingdom, our first love, our first hours, our firstfruits — and the first assignment of every believer. “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added unto you.” — Matthew 6:33, BSB

Historic Christian faith, held with Pentecostal conviction. These are the truths we build our lives on.
The Bible, fully trustworthy
God's Word is true, living, and our final authority for faith and life.
Salvation in Jesus alone
By grace through faith in Christ — His cross, His empty tomb, His finished work.
The Spirit, alive today
We welcome the gifts and power of the Holy Spirit for everyday life and ministry.
A people sent out
Loved by God and sent to love others — making Jesus known in our community and beyond.
A note for guests
You do not have to understand every doctrine before you come through the doors. Bring your questions, your story, and your need for Jesus. We believe truth matters, but we also believe people should be welcomed with patience, grace, and love.
Begin with Jesus
Everything on this website points to one Person. If you've never begun a real relationship with Him, this is the most important thing on the page.
God made you and loves you — but sin separates every one of us from Him, and no amount of trying harder can close that gap. So God closed it Himself: Jesus, God's Son, lived the life we couldn't, died on the cross for our sins, and rose from the dead. Forgiveness, new life, and the gift of the Holy Spirit are offered to anyone who will turn from sin and trust Him — not earned, received.
“...if you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”
Romans 10:9 · BSB
You can pray something like this, and mean it:
“Jesus, I know I'm a sinner and I can't save myself. I believe You died for me and rose again. Forgive me, make me new, and fill me with Your Spirit. From today, You are my Lord. Amen.”
If you prayed that prayer, welcome to the family — heaven is celebrating (Luke 15:7). Tell us so we can walk with you from day one, and ask about Headwaters — our six-week journey built just for you.
Headwaters
Every river begins somewhere. Headwaters is our six-week journey for new believers — the foundations of following Jesus, laid one week at a time. Bring a Bible and your honest questions; leave with roots.
Saved
Your new life in Christ — and how you can be sure of it.
Rooted
The Word & prayer — the two rhythms every believer is built on.
Marked
Baptism & communion — going public with what Jesus did.
Filled
The Holy Spirit & His power for everyday life and witness.
Planted
The church, your new family — gather, group, serve, give.
Sent
Healing, hope & your story — carried outward by the current.
Six weekly sessions with teaching, honest discussion, and prayer. Let us know you're interested and we'll save you a seat in the next journey.

Faith grows best together. Five communities carry the life of our church — for our kids, our students, our young adults, our women, and our men — each drawn from the flame and the living water at the heart of who we are.
Little Creek
Little Creek is where our youngest ones take their first steps with Jesus. Through story, song, and play, kids discover they are known, loved, and safe — and that the living water is for them, too. Every child belongs at the creek.
"Let the little children come to Me, and do not hinder them! For the kingdom of God belongs to such as these."
Mark 10:14 · BSB
The Current
The Current is where our middle and high schoolers are pulled deeper into Jesus and caught up in what His Spirit is doing. Together we build real friendships, wrestle with honest questions, and gain the momentum to live sent — roots growing down as faith moves forward.
"Let no one despise your youth, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity."
1 Timothy 4:12 · BSB
The Crossing
The Crossing is for young adults navigating the passage — college, career, new callings, big decisions. Together we cross into a faith that's fully our own, anchored in the Word, honest in our questions, and walking side by side. The water may be deep, but no one crosses alone.
"When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you go through the rivers, they will not overwhelm you."
Isaiah 43:2 · BSB
The Forge
The Forge is where the men of Saugahatchee are shaped by the fire of the Spirit and the truth of the Word. We gather to sharpen one another, to stand rooted for our families, and to be sent out to make Him known. Come as you are — leave forged for the calling ahead.
We gather the third Saturday of each month, 7:30–9:00 AM at the church for breakfast, the Word, and brotherhood — kicking off Saturday, August 29. Any changes are shared within the group.
"As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another."
Proverbs 27:17 · BSB
The Well
The Well is where the women of Saugahatchee come to be filled by the Living Water that never runs dry. We gather to be refreshed in His presence, rooted in His truth, and poured out in grace to our homes, our church, and our community. There's always room at the Well.
"Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a fount of water springing up to eternal life."

Your gift has a home here
If you play, you sing, or you simply carry a heart to serve, we'd love to make room for you — whether that's joining a ministry team or lending a hand at a serve day. Tell us how you'd like to help, and Pastor Lee will reach out to find your place.
“As good stewards of the manifold grace of God, each of you should use whatever gift he has received to serve one another.” — 1 Peter 4:10 · BSB

From the creek to the nations
Our whole heart is Know Jesus · Make Him Known — and “Make Him Known” doesn't stop at the county line. Jesus said we would be His witnesses “to the ends of the earth” (Acts 1:8), so Saugahatchee stands behind five world missionaries: praying for them by name, giving so they can go, and carrying their fields in our hearts until every nation knows Him.

Ralph Francis
Laboring alongside the national church to reach one of the world's most populous and least-reached nations with the gospel of Jesus.

Susan Ricketts
Serving since 1999 and based in Tokyo — reaching and discipling university students with Chi Alpha Japan, ministering at Tokyo Urban Church, and serving the Japan field as missions business manager.

Charles & Tammy Hasselbring
For 27 years the Hasselbrings have led South Africa Tabernacles, building permanent homes for vulnerable congregations — over 800 churches and counting — pursuing a healthy church within walking distance of every African.

Douglas Jacobs Jr.
Advancing the gospel and strengthening believers across South Asia — one of the most spiritually strategic and least-reached regions on earth.

Steve & Patrice Entsminger
In their 34th year of world missions — nearly 20 in Honduras, the last 14 in Spain — mentoring students at the Spain AG Theological Seminary and directing Europe's Children.
Missionary Spotlight
Missionaries we are hosting, standing with in prayer, or getting to know — alongside the five we support each month.

Joel & Kristen Temple
Serving in the French Antilles with Assemblies of God World Missions — carrying the gospel across the French-speaking Caribbean. Joel and Kristen are sharing with us Sunday morning, September 20.
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, and you will be My witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

Upcoming
Changed to Be Sent — The Book of Acts
An eight-week journey through the Book of Acts — what the Spirit-filled church did, and still does. Each Wednesday we’ll read the week’s passage together, talk it over, and then do what they did: pray, believe for healing, cross fences, send, and make disciples. They were changed to be sent — so are we. Printed study guides will be handed out at the study — just bring a Bible and a pen, and come hungry.
This series takes place during our regular Wednesday 7 PM service. Missed a week? Jump in anytime — each session stands on its own.

The Forge — Kickoff Breakfast
Men of every age — the men of Saugahatchee are gathering again. A hot breakfast, the Word opened plainly, and real conversation about the things men actually carry. Come as you are; bring a friend, a son, or a grandfather. This kicks off our monthly third-Saturday gathering.
Any unexpected changes to this schedule will be shared within the group.

Joel & Kristen Temple — Missionary Sunday
Joel and Kristen Temple serve in the French Antilles with Assemblies of God World Missions, carrying the gospel across the French-speaking Caribbean. They are joining us for our Sunday morning service to share what God is doing on their field — the faces, the needs, and the open doors. Come hear it firsthand, and come ready to pray for them and the people they serve. We will receive a love offering to send them back with our support.
Sunday School meets at 10:00 AM as usual, with Worship & Word at 11:00 AM. A love offering will be received for the Temples’ ministry.

The Forge
The men of Saugahatchee gather the third Saturday of each month for breakfast, the Word, and iron-sharpening conversation — every age from 20s to 80s at the same table. Come as you are; there’s a seat and a plate waiting.
Any unexpected changes to this schedule will be shared within the group.

The Well
The ladies of The Well gather for coffee and conversation at The Painted Mug (17267 AL-49, Notasulga, AL) — every Tuesday morning, plus the third Saturday of each month. Come as you are; there’s a chair waiting for you.
Any unexpected changes to this schedule will be shared within the group.

Ladies Lifeline
A monthly morning for women to gather, be encouraged, and grow in faith together. Beginning September 2026, meeting the first Wednesday of each month at 7349 Highway 50, Dadeville, AL 36853.
Any unexpected changes to this schedule will be shared within the group.
Harvest Prayer Night
On the first Monday of each month, our regular Monday Prayer becomes Harvest Prayer Night — a set-apart evening to pray for the lost. Every member brings 2–3 names of friends, neighbors, and loved ones who don’t yet know Jesus, to lift them up by name and to invite them to church. “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few” (Matthew 9:37–38). Beginning August 2026 at 14521 Hwy 49 S, Camp Hill.
On first Mondays this takes the place of the regular Monday Prayer meeting. Any schedule changes will be shared within the church.
Past Events

The Well — Third Saturday
The ladies of The Well filled the big table at The Painted Mug — every generation side by side, iced coffee in hand, with laughter, good conversation, and a good word to carry home. “Filled to overflow” looked just like this. Here’s a peek.

Creekside Cookout
What a good evening under the barn roof! Folks of every age — from the littlest ones on a grandparent's lap to the grandfathers in their camp chairs — pulled up together for fried fish, hushpuppies, hot dogs, and plenty of sweet tea. Thank you to everyone who came out, cooked, and shared the table. Here's a look back.
